I had to use this to log into a government website. I have been stuck in a do-loop, the “Wheel of Death”, unable to access my information or get the benefits Iearned. The help desk I called said I was doing everything correctly and that I just needed to keep trying until the bug was sorted out. Only use this if the organization, government agency or business requires it. If you care about your customers, employees or affiliates, avoid it.

This app requires you to be on cellular data AT ALL TIMES. Doesn’t work on Wi-Fi. What you do if you’re on a plane and you only have WiFi?

Now way around this app it’s horrible and only works a tenth of the time

Notifications have been broken for years now. Half the time, there is a residual notification after confirming the connection.

This newest update in May 2025 bricked everything. The Face ID broke first, then even when I put in the password it won’t turn the Face ID back on. When I try to do any push notification, I get the popup, but then it doesn’t work and I have to do the passcode anyway. It also never actually remembers me, even if it’s been 30 seconds, so clicking that box is pointless. This last time, even while using the passcode, it opened yet another inner window to have me do the exact same thing I was already trying to do, so I had a triple window open, and I still couldn’t get it to recognize me.

I hate this app it is useless and a middle man for another app called Okta mobile I work for First Solar & wish both of these apps were banned

I can’t even re-sign into my thing for the app even though I just got a new phone and I delete it off my old phone now I can’t get access and I cannot get into my college because it’s been asking for a code or a notification to let me in I was guaranteed that hopefully my college can take that off because this is such a worse app. I can’t even get access to to add any of my classes.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why anyone uses this app? I have to have it to access Workday for my job but it wont actually let me log in to Okta. It says I’ve signed in but??? I don’t know

Need the Apple Watch app to support number verification option. Why make it harder for customers to use Okta Verify?

Trying to use this to get into something for my school, it was a huge run around wasting 15 minutes of trying to figure it out. The verification process was odd and too frustrating without the right information. It is not easy as it looks. There was no way to finish the verification process and when I hit next I was just given number and I was trying to figure it out where to put it. It was, Just. Too. Complicated. I’m normally not someone who complains about things like this but this got me to the level of where I’m just about ready to break something.

Much slower than other authentication apps. Wastes a lot of employee time.

Best 2fa app I’ve used. Never interact with it for more than 5 seconds which is all I’ve ever wanted out of 2fa.

Used to be able verify with Apple Watch notifications. Please bring them back.

Somehow it doesn’t open at all

Push notifications don’t work haven’t been able to log in for 2 days

My organization apparently switched to okta for verification and MFA. Okta keeps appearing error messages when I try to set it up. My workday app is now inaccessible because of it. It’s not user friendly nor works for its purpose which is to make things more accessible

OKTA, who did you bribe to get “in” with the Department of Labor? Which public representatives took the bribe money? Your app and the implemented system we were forced to adopts during COVID was clunky and difficult. We moved away from it when we returned to normal operations in ‘21-22. Now, DOL wants us to migrate to a new email system and use your garbage app again. The problem is, many of us have changed phones and can’t access anything because your system is still tied to ph es we wiped and recycled. Between the lack of support and documentation on your end, and the lack of information coming from DOL, this system is making the transition to a new email platform infuriating for most of us who are trapped by your stupid app. You don’t deserve a dime of taxpayer money for such a heaping, steaming, pile of an app.

I don’t often write reviews of Mac Apps, but installed in order to log into my work related sites, instead of needing to handle the mobile app. Well, I can add account to the Mac app from the iOS app but doesn’t ever get past the Touch ID confirmation screen even though Touch ID has been confirmed, to get a code. worthless at the moment.

This app is the slowest in the mornings, when I actually need it. I can get to work 10 minutes early and still clock in late with this horribly slow app. Sometimes after I approve the notification it won’t load at all. Wish I didn’t have to use it.

I use to be able to quickly approve an okta verification via the notification dropdown on my phone. When hard pressing the notification it would have two options one "Yes its me" or whatever the exact message and one to reject. Now 99% of time it will flash for a second and force me to approve the okta verification only in the app. Why does it work sometimes but most times it doesn't? I want less friction and its annoying to have to exit whatever app im on my app to be forced to navigate to the okta app to approve + face id. Inefficient. Please fix

Been trying for weeks to get into your app and see my schedule and it never sends me notifications or emails to verify my account.

I changed phone because my other one broke and when I downloaded the app again to sign in it is NOT allowing me to not even if I reset the app or nothing WORSE app ever

Very often, I tap a button in the UI, and nothing happens. The button and dialog stay visible for several seconds with no indication that my input was received. It seems they have made UI interactions network-bound.

Works fine enough but now with the requirement to select a number instead of just approving yes or no, can no longer use the watch to select. Please bring back watch functionality.

this app does not work 90% of the time especially in crucial moments

IT teams may like it but overall user experience has too much friction. Push notifications don’t work well with long press (noted in other reviews) Same device login for apps like Google suite, zoom, etc…is a joke as one jumps between apps to tap a number No explanation for new device transfers. If I get a new phone and try opening the app why not immediately ask if I’m a new user or transferring? Direct me to your Bluetooth transfer feature in a seamless manner? New phone set up was a breeze except for anything involving okra. Your users probably have above average device upgrade cycles, help them!

Worst app ever. I’m trying to log on to it for the first time and it’s asking to send a code to the app to finish the signing up process. I CANT GET THE CODE! I’m not signed up, makes no sense. Tried to call with customer service and was left on hold for 30 min. So upset and still can’t log in or access any of my emails now because of this app. Needs serious work

I work minimum wage. There is no information worth protecting in my Okta account. I shouldn’t have to download all these apps and swipe through all of them just to sign in and see my upcoming schedule. It removes any semblance of convenience from an app that was supposed to make things more convenient. It’s ridiculous. Also, you only get twenty seconds to type in your code, which is incredibly infuriating even though i understand its somewhat standard practice.

Won’t let me sign in to the workday app w/o getting a verification code from this app. I have to add account in order to get a code and I cannot add my account w/o getting a code from the app that won’t let me add an account

The app on iPhone requires Face ID, which I refuse to do. Face ID is not required on Samsung phones, so I know it can work without it just fine. Needs to have an option without Face ID!

This app constantly crashes! I’ve tried to reinstall and everything, but it crashes before I can get the code or push notifications. It makes it so I can’t log in to do my job or even submit my time card.

While trying to sign in to the app for school after getting a new phone I was asked on both my mobile phone and computer to enter a verification code, one I have NO WAY of getting to.

If I own one device it should remember me for at least 24 hours if I select “remember me”. Logging in every 20 minutes depending on if canvas refreshes. I want to go back to any other 2FA but as a student I dont have a choice

If you use this app NEVER upgrade your phone. I did and lost all my info. Service basically blamed me for updating.

I had to reinstall the app multiple times because it does not launch my dashboard after the authentication. It just ask me to log in again and authenticate numerous times.

This is actually the worst app I’ve ever used in my entire life. Not only is it just an extra step to log into your stuff but it creates completely unnecessary stress. Recently my phone was having problems so I had to reset everything. Once I had an things to fue that required my to log into my school email the app just completely didn’t let me log into anything. I don’t understand why universities decide go use such useless things like this. The second the app stops working i cant log into anything nor do anything for any of my classes all because you have to verify it’s you with this app. If you wanna verify it’s me just send a verification email like every other website don’t make someone go through this whole process just to view a specific site.

The app doesn’t work. How am I supposed to enter in a code when I can’t verify my organization. It’s because this app is trash. If I had the opportunity I would take the servers down for everybody’s sake. This app causes more stress than it helps.

I don’t know how they can release an app that just doesn’t work. The SSO redirect never prompts me for face ID

my school recently replaced the 2fa with okta and oh my god this is the worst app i’ve ever used in my life! the “keep me signed in” button does NOT work and i have to resign in with okta EVERY SINGLE TIME i want to log into canvas or my email or any school site. the fact that it requires face id also makes it take so much longer than any other 2fa. good god please fix the stay signed in feature because i want to smash my laptop with a hammer every time it makes me open this stupid app.

Too much Complicated security process, makes it difficult and disturbing rather than the efficiency

Broken and frustrating app. Insane levels of double verification for what then sends back through a loop. Deleted and redownload the app per recommendation and, when setting up account again, it ONLY allows me to verify it using their app… which you can’t access because you deleted it and are trying to log in again… I’m just trying to use a simple app but now they have my work hostage.

This has completely taken over my internet browser. Logged in on my phone once for work and now it won’t let me get to my personal Google account because it always brings up the Okta screen. So aggravating. Parasite app.

My job requires this. The best I can say is that it works over 90% of the time, and Okta FastPass makes it considerably less annoying. But like other reviewers, I get the verification wheel of death waaaay too often. This makes it really freaking hard to log in and do my job so I can, you know, eat and pay my mortgage.

App needs a lot of work!!! My new job uses this app and It can’t verify it’s me. I tried everything even when I used password to login I still can’t login. But I can login through pc. But what’s the point of an app if I can’t have excess through my phone. Although some can . My company even reset my account and still no go. 1 star

The beauty of this Authenticator was supposed to be that you could use push notifications instead of typing in a code every time. Guess what? The push notifications don’t work. Contacting support gets you nothing. No responses. No fix. Just an app that doesn’t work like it’s supposed to.
